XXIX Work Fair
Spring edition – 6 April 2022
The promotion of the brand, the offers and the development paths as well as the conduct of direct job interviews are essential, though not the only, benefits of participating in the fair.
XXIX. The job fair will be a unique edition. After almost 2 years of absence in hospital, due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in the university’s calendar of events, our students (women) are able to meet with representatives of business and organisations from Wroclaw, Lower Silesia, Europe and the world. This is possible because although the meeting is scheduled to be stationary, this location does not represent any restrictions for many companies and workers. Distance or hybrid work frees us from the place by focusing on goals, tasks and people.
Data collected by Element for Grant Thornton shows that employers posted 34% more job advertisements on the largest recruitment portals in 2021 than in 2020. Figures published by the Association of Business Service Executives also point to employment growth of 6. 1% compared to the previous year. This shows that employers have coped with the effects of the pandemic, and some of them often develop faster than before the pandemic erupted. The projected staffing needs are also linked to the increased mobility of the workforce, the continued influx of investors and the planned development of existing organisations. 1
The reality of the labour market also presents many challenges, but also opportunities. The answer is sought by young people entering the labour market and by those at the centre of change who are experiencing its changeability. Questions will arise:
How has the situation on the labour market developed over the past two years?
How have working conditions for workers changed?
What do employers expect from applicants these days?
Which competencies and abilities are most expected?
The answers can be found in different ways. However, from discussions with students and business representatives, we know that direct contact is a form that is particularly appreciated by both sides. This is why the job fair, organised by the Centre for Cooperation with Business UEW, is an event that our entire academic community and our partner companies look forward to.
